Chris Allen is a Washington native and graduate of Marymount Manhattan College where he majored in English. After growing up performing in local theater productions Chris took several years off in order to take himself far too seriously. He spent a few years performing stand up comedy around Seattle until he switched to improv which has been his main focus ever since.
An ensemble member in Jet City Improv, Chris performs nearly every weekend in Jet City’s flagship short form show, and is a frequent player in Jet City’s long form improvised plays including Austen Translation, Final Transmission, and the late night cult favorite Funbucket! plus many others and was creator/director of Jet City’s American Glory: The Improvised Sorkin . As a teacher in Jet City’s education department, Chris leads classes for adults, teenagers, and at-risk youth, as well as corporate workshops on communication, team building, and creativity. A major presence in the improv community, Chris frequently guest performs with other theaters in shows at Unexpected Productions, ComedySportz Seattle, and The Upfront Theatre to name just a few.
For two years Chris served as Director of the Portland troupe and Assistant Director/Lead Detective of the Seattle troupe of The Murder Mystery Co., the largest murder mystery organization in the world.
During the day Chris works as a tour guide for Bill Speidel’s Underground Tour, teaching people about Seattle history and taking them through dank, rat infested tunnels, which he enjoys immensely.
When not performing or teaching Chris likes to spend his free time at Crossfit and mountaineering around the Cascades.
